Pre-school Summer Reading ProgramThursday, July 9

"Be creative @ your Library" this summer and explore the worlds of music, dance, art, books and more. This program will be taking the place of our Story Time reading program during the summer. So bring your tots for a great story and some crafts and artwork. The first story to be read will be Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin!

Jackpot! Bingo at Club AltusFriday, July 10
Starts at 5:30 pm
Bring some pants with big pockets, as you may be the lucky person who walks away with the lion's share of 450+ in cash payouts at the next bingo event at the Club. There will be six games of bingo with the first four games having progressive pots (meaning the more that play the more we pay), game five having a pot of $150 and game six having the jackpot! of $300. Must have a minimum of 20 players for the games to be held.

Junior Golf ClinicJuly 13 - 17 at 8 am
There are still a few spots available for junior golfers, ages 6-17 to take part in this week-long clinic. Cost is $50 per student and includes instruction, "Golf 4 Kids" t-shirt, hat and a ditty bag full of balls and tees. Each day students will learn the mechanics of a great golf swing. On Friday, students will hit the course for a practice round and to show off their new skills.

Fitness Center Rescue MissionMission starts Wednesday, July 1
Your wingman is trapped in a hot zone 7,000 miles deep inside Iraq and needs your help to get them out. There are two ways to get to your wingman: bike (each mile = 50 miles) or run (each mile = 100 miles). The first ten people to complete their goal will win a limited edition Rescue Mission Camo T-Shirt.

Hike the Appalachian TrailThe adventure begins Wednesday, July 1
The Altus AFB HAWC and Fitness Center challenge you to hike America’s longest, skinniest National Park that stretches over 14 states from Georgia to Maine, without having to leave Altus to do it. Hike 6 miles a day (around 12,000 steps) per quarter and you will have covered the entire 2,160 miles of trail within a year’s time.
Individuals participating in this program will receive fun rewards with the completion of each regional milestone.
Sign up at the Fitness Center to begin your hike and receive a pedometer to help you keep track of your progress.

Intramural Golf League RegistrationEnds Tuesday, June 30
Hit the links this summer for some great golf action. This is a weekly 9-hole golf league with four persons per team (note: members do not have to be from the same squadron) and compete against other teams at Altus AFB. League will start on July 14 and is played Tuesdays at 5 pm.

Link Up 2 GolfStarts Tuesday, July 14 at 5 pm
During this 4-week clinic, golfers will receive personal instruction on golf swing mechanics, course etiquette and the basic rules of the game. Cost is $99 per student and includes instruction, golf shirt, cap, towel and three rounds of golf. Limited space is available, so register today.
